A walk woven by local experience

The Weavers

Up to ten older local people are helping shape the questions, stories, sounds and choices at the heart of the work.

The creative journey

Ten connected sessions move from personal maps and river exploration towards route testing, sound and public readiness.

The River Irwell

The project traces connections between Manchester and Salford through a waterway that carries histories of work, movement, change and recovery.

“What is your Manchester history?”

The public experience is being developed through researched history and lived experience, with room for challenge, humour, disagreement and different ways of taking part.
